Islamic manuscripts play an important role in restoring information and preserving the intellectual, spiritual, and cultural heritage of the Muslim community from the advent of Islam to the present day. These texts offer invaluable insights into Islamic laws, guidance, history, culture, literature, politics, medicine, science, and technology, connecting past, present, and future civilisations. The International Conference on Islamic Manuscripts, themed “Islamic Manuscripts: Bridge Between the Past and the Future”, seeks to highlight the enduring significance of Islamic manuscripts as connectors of historical wisdom to contemporary and future contexts. These invaluable texts, spanning diverse disciplines such as law, science, medicine, literature, and spirituality, represent the intellectual and cultural achievements of past Islamic civilisations. This conference aims to reaffirm the role of Islamic manuscripts in fostering intellectual growth, cultural continuity, and sustainable progress for future generations by bridging historical insights with modern advancements.

Objectives:

  1. ​Raising awareness about the importance of Islamic manuscripts as a linking bridge between the intellectual and cultural heritage of the past with the future.
  2. Encouraging a deeper understanding of Islamic manuscripts as resource relevant to shaping contemporary and future Muslim lives.
  3. Explaining the values and teachings found in Islamic manuscripts to address contemporary issues among Muslims.
  4. Stimulating interest in Islamic manuscript research among younger generations.
  5. ​​Introducing innovative educational approaches based on Islamic manuscripts to foster knowledgeable, ethical and resilient future generations.

  1. ​​Legacy of Knowledge in Manuscripts
    • ​Examining the role of Islamic manuscripts in preserving intellectual, spiritual, and cultural values relevant to the modern Muslim community.

  2. Genealogy and Lineage Studies
    • ​Exploring connections between Islamic manuscripts and genealogical studies to understand the continuity of Islamic thought and traditions.

  3. Contemporary Applications of Teachings
    • ​Discussing methodologies and teachings found in Islamic manuscripts applicable to current challenges among Muslims.

  4. Technology and Access to Manuscripts
    • ​Highlighting the role of technology in enhancing accessibility to Islamic manuscripts applicable to current challenges among Muslims.
