The exhibition which is the first of its kind in Brunei features over 20 orientalist painting by renowned 19th century artists which amongst others includes Jean-Leons-Gerome. Osman Hamdi Bey and Rudolf Ernst. In the theme Faith & Devotion, the paintings collectively explore depicitions of the many parts of the muslim world termed as ' The Orient' in the 19th century which were accessible to European Visitors. The painting shed an important light on Islamic culture and religion at a time when few photographic records survive.

We are excited to invite the public to explore the rich cultural heritage of Islam through an immersive experience featuring 3D replicas of artifacts at the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Islamic Khazanah Hall. This special exhibition is designed to ensure accessibility for all, including individuals with visual and hearing impairments, offering a unique opportunity to engage with Islamic history and culture.
