Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (BKISHHB) is an institution that houses a collection of invaluable treasures, and it continues to be active in upholding the principles of community education, heritage preservation, and especially research-based heritage preservation.

The exhibition of Islamic treasure collection artifacts give BKISHHB its identity as an Islamic heritage center and act as a bridge between the community and Islamic legacy civilization, and continues to provide knowledge.

Mushafs, manuscripts, fossils, coins, artifacts from the Prophet Muhammad PBUH and his Companions, objects from the Rosary, sticks, and Islamic calligraphy materials are among the riches in the collection of artifacts. These items can be used as the main source of information in research activities.

In accordance with the proclamation of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam to declare BKISHHB a Heritage Centre of Knowledge, the research effort is to evaluate, examine, unravel, and share knowledge about Khazanah for the advancement of Islam and the ummah.

Research is conducted at BKISHHB in a variety of ways, either by BKISHHB employees themselves or in collaborations with universities, governmental bodies, the corporate sector, and non-governmental organizations. 

The materials from the Khazanah Islam collection kept at BKISHHB are available for use in astrology, paleontology, paleoanthropology, and general public research.
