The Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (BKISHHB) held a Blood Donation Campaign on Monday, 13 March 2022, at the lobby of the BKISHHB building, located at Simpang 26, Jalan Pengiran Babu Raja, Bandar Seri Begawan.

The Blood Donation Campaign was organised in collaboration with the Blood Donation Centre, Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital, Ministry of Health. The campaign was held from 9.00 am to 11.30 am, and continued in the afternoon from 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm.

Prior to donating blood, donors underwent a health screening and were asked several personal health-related questions. Following the blood donation, donors were advised to drink plenty of water and get adequate rest.

According to BKISHHB Research Officer, Dayang Amalina binti Junggal, such Blood Donation Campaigns are a noble act of helping one another. This is also generally in accordance with the command of Allah the Almighty to perform good deeds and extend assistance to one another, as stated in the Qur’an, the translation of which means:

“And help one another in righteousness and piety, and do not help one another in sin and transgression.”
(Surah Al-Ma’idah: 2)

The Blood Donation Campaign also aimed to foster a sense of compassion and encourage the practice of continuous charity by contributing to the national blood bank reserves.

A total of 68 donors participated in the campaign, comprising officers and staff of BKISHHB as well as members of the public.

Similar campaigns are hoped to be continued in the future in collaboration with the Blood Donation Centre, RIPAS Hospital.
