BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Tuesday, 22 September 2026 – 100 Year 9 and Year 10 students from Sekolah Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (SYSHHB) participated in the “Projek Interaksi: Pengetahuan dan Pemahaman Bersama” organised by Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (BKISHHB).
The three-hour project, held during the morning session, was conducted in collaboration with the Research and Publication Division, Education and Services Division, and Strategic Marketing Division of BKISHHB.
This project is among BKISHHB’s efforts to introduce its role and functions to students, particularly in conserving, preserving and exhibiting Islamic heritage collections of historical, educational and cultural value.
The project also aimed to expose students to the various fields of knowledge featured at BKISHHB, while introducing its collection of Islamic heritage artefacts as sources of reference, learning and research across various fields of knowledge.

Throughout the project, BKISHHB officers delivered several presentations covering an introduction to the role of BKISHHB, an introduction to the fundamentals of manuscripts and philology, as well as a sharing session on paleontology.
Through these sessions, students were not only introduced to the collections and Islamic heritage available at BKISHHB, but were also given the opportunity to understand the importance of preserving, studying and examining the collections at BKISHHB as sources of knowledge and heritage that should be valued and safeguarded.
The students also had the opportunity to participate in several interactive activities, including text transliteration and quizzes, as well as viewing an exhibition of replicas of BKISHHB’s artefact collections prepared as part of the project.
This project is also in line with BKISHHB’s efforts to fulfil one of the purposes of its establishment as a centre of knowledge that plays a role in bringing various fields of Islamic knowledge to life through research, dissemination of knowledge and the implementation of related programmes.
At the same time, the initiative serves as a platform to bring the community, particularly the younger generation, closer to Islamic heritage, while increasing awareness of the historical, educational and cultural value embodied in the collections of BKISHHB.
Through the organisation of projects such as this, BKISHHB also aims to strengthen relations and collaboration with educational institutions and relevant agencies, while expanding its network of cooperation and outreach efforts to promote greater awareness among the community and the public of the role and functions of BKISHHB.
