BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Thursday, 12 September – Berselawat Event was held at the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Islamic Khazanah Hall to mark the closing of the The Noble Hair of The Prophet ﷺ Chamber, which was opened throughout the month of Rabiulawal 1448 Hijrah, from 2 Rabiulawal 1448H, corresponding to 15 August 2026M, until 30 Rabiulawal 1448H, corresponding to 12 September 2026.
Present as special guests were Coordinating Minister for National Security, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Mejar Jeneral (B) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof; Coordinating Minister for Economic Policy and Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin; Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office (Civil Service Governance), Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Awang Mohamad; Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office (Security and Law), Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Sufian bin Haji Sabtu; Minister of Development, Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid; and Minister of Religious Affairs, Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Haji Mohammad Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan as members of the Advisory Board of the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Islamic Khazanah Hall.
The special guests were welcomed by Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Religious Affairs and Director of the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Islamic Khazanah Hall, Yang Mulia Dr Haji Mohammed Hussain bin Pehin Penyurat Haji Ahmad, also the Head of Secretariat of the Advisory Board of the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Islamic Khazanah Hall.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Selawat and Dikir led by Ustaz Sheikh Haji Mutiaa Al Kabbani Mahmoud a teacher from Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah and concluded with the recitation of Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam led by a first-year Higher Diploma Aliyah Qiraat student from Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah.
The Noble Hair of The Prophet ﷺ Chamber was opened to the public for one month throughout Rabiulawal to commemorate the birth month of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, while at the same time serving to further honour and uphold the sanctity of the month.
Around 3,307 visitors were recorded throughout the month-long opening of the chamber, providing them with the opportunity to witness the Noble Hair of The Prophet ﷺ Chamber and to take the opportunity to be present and recite selawat in close proximity to the Noble Hair of Rasulullah ﷺ at Gallery 3.
In addition, the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Islamic Khazanah Hall actively conducted religious activities throughout the month of Rabiulawal, including offering four (4) selawat sessions inside Noble Hair of The Prophet ﷺ Chamber on every working day, Monday to Thursday and Saturday, for groups and zikir associations from ministries, government departments, institutions of higher learning, mosques and private companies.
Bookings for the selawat sessions inside the chamber were made available online, with a total of 934 participants attending and taking part in commemorating and honouring the birth month of our beloved Prophet ﷺ through various forms of dikir and selawat, including Dikir Syarafil Anam, Selawat Ibrahimiyah, Selawat Tafrijiyah, Selawat Munjiyat, Selawat Fatih, Selawat Syifa, Selawat Nur, Selawat Badariyyah, Maulid Diba’ie and others.
In addition, selawat events and activities were also held at the auditorium and lobby of the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Islamic Khazanah Hall every Sunday throughout the month of Rabiulawal by non-government organisations, registered associations and zikir groups in collaboration with the Islamic Khazanah Hall, which were also open to the public.
The next opening of the Noble Hair of The Prophet ﷺ Chamber will be in January 2027 for three (3) days in conjunction with the commemoration of Isra’ and Mi’raj.
