A total of 48 pints of blood were successfully collected through a Blood Donation Campaign organised by Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (BKISHHB), in collaboration with the Blood Donation Centre, Department of Laboratory Services, Ministry of Health, on Thursday.
The campaign, held at the BKISHHB Lobby, was conducted in two sessions, from 9.00 am to 11.30 am and from 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm.
The campaign was part of BKISHHB’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in supporting community-oriented efforts, particularly in raising public awareness on the importance of blood donation, while fostering a spirit of care, compassion and shared responsibility towards the well-being of the community.
In addition to contributing to the national blood supply, the campaign also served as a platform to raise awareness on the importance of regular blood donation among eligible individuals. At the same time, the campaign provided an opportunity for BKISHHB staff and members of the public to contribute blood as a form of charitable deed that is simple yet can make a meaningful difference to those in need.
Meanwhile, the collaboration with the Blood Donation Centre, Department of Laboratory Services, Ministry of Health, reflects the importance of multi-agency cooperation in supporting efforts to ensure an adequate blood supply to meet the needs of the country’s healthcare services.
The campaign also received support from sponsors, namely D’Sunlit Sdn Bhd, Shah Indra Brunei Darussalam, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and Tandoor Sdn Bhd, who contributed tokens of appreciation for the donors in recognition of their concern and willingness to donate blood.
BKISHHB expressed its deepest appreciation and gratitude to the Department of Laboratory Services, Ministry of Health, the sponsors, BKISHHB staff and members of the public for their support and contributions towards the success of the campaign.
The Blood Donation Campaign is hoped to further promote a culture of mutual assistance and compassion within the community, while strengthening BKISHHB’s commitment to implementing various CSR initiatives that contribute positively to the community and the nation.
